Beet growers will receive a £1.50/tonne bonus payment if they deliver on their 2013/14 contracted tonnage, the NFU and British Sugar have confirmed.
The bonus will be paid following the 2013/14 campaign and applies to both Contract Tonnage Entitlement (CTE) and Industrial Tonnage (ICE).
This brings the total equivalent payment, including the bonus, to £28.01/tonne for CTE and £27.01/tonne for ICE. Surplus beet tonnage will be £25/tonne as previously announced.
The additional payment will not be made if there is a shortfall against contracted tonnage.
